                            music & words
                            Phil Morrison

(Intro-Outro Lyrics sung in unison with bassline)
  God
Bestow upon these souls Thy protection
  Lord
We thank them for their sacrifice

 Bright
Within their hearts The Glory's reflection
 Light
Will show the way to paradise

Oh Merciful God our Lord...
for Thee we are Thankful
Though there are those who have lost their way...
 We pray for their forgiveness

Oh Lord...make me strong so I'll be firm in Thy Cause
Faith in Thy Word will sustain me
And although I feel the pain ..
in my heart that Faith remains
With Thee we're not alone...Thy Love is my Protection

Oh my Lord...I make this sacrifice for Thee ...Who art the Glory
I know that Your Light will replace this darkness
                 Ya Baha 'ul Abha

( Intro-Outro Lyrics sung in unison with bassline)

God
Bestow upon these souls Thy protection
 Lord
We thank them for their sacrifice

 Bright
Within their hearts the Glory's reflection
 Light
Will show the way to paradise

Refresh and Gladden My Spirit

Baha'i World Center

         Words...A Baha'i Prayer
                Music by..Phil Morrison

Oh God...Refresh and Gladden my spirit
Purify my heart...illumine my powers
I lay all my affairs in Thy hand
Thou art my guide and my refuge
I will no longer be sorrowful and grieved
I will be a happy and joyful being
Oh God, I will no longer be filled with
anxiety
Nor will I let trouble harass me
I will not dwell on the unpleasant
things in life

Oh God, Thou art more friend to me than
I am to myself
I dedicate myself to Thee oh Lord
                        Abdu'l Baha

“REMEMBER IBO(Igbo)LANDING”

The historic event that took place on St Simons Island, Georgia at Ibo Landing,
reminds us of the lyrics from an old Negro spiritual…..

Oh freedom, Oh freedom
Oh freedom over me
AND BEFORE I’D BE A SLAVE
I’D BE BURIED IN MY GRAVE
And go home to my Lord and be free
Oh freedom

REMEMBER IBO(IGBO) LANDING  (May, 1803)
words & music:  Phil Morrison

Remember IBO Landing
They walked into the sea
Until the last man standing
Their cry.. we must be free

From Africa their homeland
Across an ocean wide
In chains you hear them moanin'
In pain as many died

 Remember IBO Landing
 Where Africans rebel
 Freedom they're demanding
Won't live their lives in hell!

Saint Simons Island Georgia
Their final resting place
To end the constant torture
This inhumane disgrace

But spirits can't be broken
From the strong and brave
These Africans would rather die
Than live their lives as slaves

Remember IBO Landing
Along the Georgia shore
With bravery and courage
They marched towards heaven's door

Remember IBO Landing
It's where our heroes died
This history is sacred
Remember them with pride..

Magical their power
Its source comes from the sky
Where angels call to paradise
Behold as freemen fly

Remember IBO Landing

           (c)2016 pbm

Our tribute song commemorating an historic event that took place
in May, 1803 on Saint Simons Island, Georgia.

It was during the American slave trade scourge when courageous Africans walked into the waters of St Simons Island, sacrificing their lives, rather than submit to being enslaved by their captors!  Legend has it that after entering the water they would then grow wings & fly away.
